Review Fimbles, Get the Fimbling Feeling / Fimbles:When The Fimbles arrived on kids TV in 2002, it unfairly drew comparison with The Teletubbies. Beyond the furry man-sized suits, there's actually a lot more going for the show. It's the perfect successor in many ways, featuring just a few more characters and situations to appeal to children beginning to form and follow words. Within each episode, something is found by one of the three Fimbles (Fimbo, Florrie or baby Pom) who populate the Purple Meadow. Near the Tinkling Tree, they experience the excitement (Fimbling Feeling) of discovering something new and eagerly share it with their friends. This allows for the soothing tones of Roly Mo to relax everyone with a story tailored to the found object. More often than not, the group is joined by the fluffy Mummy and egg family of Bessie and Ribble, whose wise observations always lead to a safety warning or two. The show's real star is left to last: the irrepressible Rockit the frog bounces all over the place causing chaos and hilarity simultaneously. As a format, Fimbles is familiar enough for the kids to know what favourite bit to look forward to. It's also significantly different enough to distance itself from any previous show. [+]-Paul Tonks.

Review Mickey's Magical Christmas - Snowed In At The House Of Mouse / Walt Disney Home Video:Though promoted as a "full-length holiday movie", Mickey's Magical Christmas is more of a Christmas special spin-off from Disney's House of Mouse TV series. The premise is something like an animated Muppet Show: Mickey, Goofy and Donald run a nightclub for an audience of Disney characters, with plenty of songs, skits and cartoons. There's not much story to this holiday special-Mickey whips up an impromptu party for stranded guests and instils a "Humbug" quacking Donald with the holiday spirit-but it's full of sight gags and comic bits with dozens of Disney characters, from Ludwig von Duck to Pumba and Timmon. The special begins with the short Pluto's Christmas Tree and ends with the entire 1983 short film Mickey's Christmas Carol. However, the highlight is a comic retelling of The Nutcracker with Donald as a reluctant Mouse King (complete with phony Mickey Mouse ears) and John Cleese as the exasperated narrator. The special is utterly unmemorable as a whole, but nonetheless bright, light, cute and sure to keep the attentions of young tots. -Sean Axmaker, Amazon. com.

Review Barney's Sing And Dance / Hit Entertainment:For those who can't get enough of those Barney songs, here's a made-for-video show packed full of song and dance. The story line is oh-so thin as Barney and his friends sing 27 songs in only 56 minutes, so Barney is usually singing or introducing a new song. For anyone with the American series, most of the songs are Barney standards: "Mr Sun", "The Airplane Song", "Baby Bop Hop", and "I Love You". They are mixed in with all-time favourites such as "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "A Camping We Will Go" and the like. Many of Barney's original kid friends return looking much older and wiser.
